The three questions everyone asks first — answered the way we’d want them answered.

Is it safe?

Every program on the island runs inside a licensed tertiary hospital, uses cell products manufactured in GMP cleanrooms, and reports outcomes into China’s national real-world data program — participation is mandatory, not optional. That said: this is clinical-stage medicine, and clinical-stage medicine always carries uncertainty. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something.

Where do the cells come from?

Umbilical-cord tissue from screened, consented, full-term births — expanded in licensed GMP facilities and released only after passing viability, identity, sterility and endotoxin panels. A batch that misses on any one is destroyed. Autologous programs (NK immunity and adipose-derived courses) use your own cells, drawn, expanded and returned.

Is it legal?

Inside Boao Lecheng — yes. The State Council chartered the pilot zone in 2013 precisely so that licensed frontier therapies could be delivered lawfully, in real hospitals, under supervision, before nationwide approval. That distinction is the point of the island. Outside the zone, the same therapies are largely unavailable in mainland China.

Who decides if a program is right for me?

Not a menu, and not a salesperson. The treating hospital’s specialist panel decides from your own day-two results — and some guests are declined. We consider that a feature of the system.
